Minutes of the Parish Council meeting held on 29th January, having been circulated were confirmed as a true record and signed by the chairman.


Ian Williams was co-opted to the Office of Parish Councillor.

Consultation on discharge of conditions of E/2012/1444/FUL

Manor Farm Allington Devizes SN10 3NN

Erection of new dairy. 

The Parish Council agreed to the discharge of all conditions.

Conditions 2,3,7 and 8, mainly changes of the materials and colouring of the cladding of the building and additional landscaping. No objection from residents of Allington who had been consulted previously.

Village Community Store: Nothing to report.

PCC: Churchyard: The immediate concern regarding some of the trees will be addressed by commissioning a tree survey to be carried out by a suitably qualified tree surgeon.  Replacement warning signs installed. Subsidence reported on two of the tombs/graves owing to the recent heavy rain. Both areas have been cordoned off to prevent any accidents. Survey by James Long to be investigated as to whether maintenance of graves would be covered. Also whether any living relatives could be traced.    

Cemetery: Cemetery regulations to be reviewed. The “one headstone no borders rule” to be confirmed.

Village Green:  Notices to be put up and article published in the Church Newsletter regarding dog fouling. Poop Scoop bags delivered to the village shop.

Village Hall/Pre-School: Damp situation due to use of non-breathable paint. Professional advice being sought. Decision to remove showers being considered owing to potential health problems.

Glebe Field: Dog fouling an ongoing problem, situation reported to Wiltshire Council.

Sarah Hanks has been appointed Coordinator for the parishes.

All Cannings Primary School: Nothing to report.



Letter from David Lane requesting that the bushes/branches overhanging the footpath

adjacent to the glebe field allotments be cut back as they are causing an obstruction.

Donations from Concert at the Kings have been distributed in the village as follows:

Quote of £789.00 received and accepted by the council from Elliott Perrigo, South West Fencing and Supplies Ltd. to replace the existing council notice boards.
