MINUTES OF A PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
Held in the Village Hall, All Cannings on Wednesday 25th October 2000

MINUTES
Minutes of the previous meeting held on 27th September 2000 having been circulated, were confirmed as a true record and signed by the Chairman.

MATTERS ARISING

Millennium Committee: The committee had been distressed to note that some of the trees planted in the Churchyard had been damaged due to a fire being set alight to burn the planks from the old church floor. They asked that the council should endorse a letter of complaint they wished to send to the PCC. It was agreed to do so.

Litterbins: The bin at The Pound has been secured.

Allington Corner: The trees have been cut back. The Clerk was asked to contact Mr Hay regarding the chevrons etc. to be put up at the corner.

Recycle bins; The Clerk has contacted Mr Cater of the Village Hall Committee but has had no response as yet. The Clerk was asked to investigate if a sound-proof bin was in existence.

Audit: The Clerk has received the final accounts ready to be signed off but due to the Chairman not being present nor all councillors they will be signed off at the November meeting.

Prospect Cottages; The Clerk contacted KDC regarding the removal of the front garden hedges and digging out of the front garden of the cottages. The hedges are not protected under any acts only trees. The Clerk was asked to check this with the planning department and to ask about the area of garden which looked as if it was being made into a hard standing area for vehicles.
REPORTS FROM COMMITTEES

Village Hall: The side security light has been disconnected due to malfunction.

PCC: The church floor repairs have been completed. A Children’s Club has started on the 1st Saturday of every month.

FtPs: Concern was expressed about some steps that had been put in when the old school mobile classrooms were installed on footpath 2. Esther would be contacted.
Nettles at the Moor end of Priest Lane are encroaching the path, the Clerk would contact Mrs Lock about having it cut back.

Transport: Wiggly Bus meeting on 31st October at Bouverie hall Pewsey a councillor would try to attend.

Leisure Facilities:
Play Area: Insurance for the cycle track is still being looked into and will need further contact between ROSPA and the insurance company.

Green Access Point: The last of the grants that were available for has been refused.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS
Prospect Cottages; The Clerk was asked to contact KDC regarding the removal of the front garden hedges and digging out of the front garden of the cottages as it was believed that planning permission was needed for any such work to be carried out in the conservation area of the village..
